Certainty
Updated: Aug 30

Sometimes, in the slow unfolding of life,
a moment comes when we loosen our grip
on the need for certainty.
Not because certainty has failed us—
on the contrary, it has taught us much
about the architecture of the world
and our own fragile edges.
But there are places that the soul cannot enter
when burdened by the need to be sure.
Love, hope, grace, and
the Sacred Presence older than time,
all defy the boundaries of proof.
They cannot be measured or managed;
they can only be experienced.
Bidden or unbidden,
they arrive as gifts,
surfacing from the deep well
of a vast and quiet mystery.
In time,
the worry of not being sure
eases into something else:
a quiet, spiritual knowing
impossible to hold,
but ready to be trusted.
